About us

Our journey Began on Thursday 1st February 2024 in Swans Yard, Shaftesbury. Following the passing of Martin's dad, Gordon Woodham, we inherited some money. Gordon was a wonderful man with a passion for machines and all things motor related, he built his own mini steam engines and won several races in go karting and dirt bike racing! To honour his legacy we decided to invest the money he left behind into a family business and thus Forget-me-not-eco shop was born. After researching different ventures we decided to take on a shop in Swans Yard, Shaftesbury, rebranding as Forget-me-not-eco shop but still selling the same stock. As first time business owners it was tough to say the least, but we found our footing as everybody in the family pulled together to support one another. This includes our shop doggy, Blue.

We were passionate in selling eco products, natural skincare and sustainable goods. Over time we started to get in more interesting unique products to better suite our customers. After hearing that Anita Horak's Kit & Kaboodle was closing we knew we had to do something to keep shops selling haberdashery alive, so we took on a lot of her stock! We found that it was a really exciting category of products that our customers loved so we began increasing our range, buying in things like yarn. We also started selling crystals and incense around this time!

After much thought and consideration, we felt that Forget-Me-Not-Eco shop was not a name that represented us as a family and so on the 22nd September we rebranded as Theodora's. We chose this name as it represents lost loved ones who we want to honour as part of our family. Martin lost his mum, Eadie (Theodora), when he was just 31 and then on the 12th December 2020 we lost our son, Teddy (Theodore) Gordon Woodham.

Not long after rebranding as Theadora's we decided to relocate as it was more convenient for us and an opportunity on the high street had recently become available. So, on Wednesday 21st of January, we opened our shop in Gillingham. We hope to continue supporting the community and we would like to thank those along the well who helped us get to where we are today!
